Five Fruit Pie

Homemade rhubarb pie. Hands down. When I was a kid, we used to grow our own rhubarb on the sunny side of our garage. The plants would get huge, and provide us with plenty of delicious fruit for pies, cobblers, jams and the like. The pie was always our family favorite. It's difficult to find plain rhubarb pies anymore; somebody somewhere decided that they weren't good enough on their own, so now they always have strawberries in them. Sorry strawberries, but you ruin them for me. Nothing beats a good old-fashioned, honest to goodness rhubarb only pie still warm from the oven; with a golden, tender, flaky crust that melts in your mouth and the sweet-tart fruit with just enough tang to give your mouth a kick. Calgon, take me away!
